  • CAVOK Vice President Allan Bachan quoted in Aviation Week

    CAVOK Vice President Allan Bachan was quoted in an article in Aviation Week about the difficulty of automating maintenance. The article states that new aircraft, data management and economic pressures continue to demand stronger IT systems, and MRO managers, some reluctantly, are changing IT systems to varying degrees.

    Bachan told the publication he sees interest among airlines in new MRO software. “There is an emphasis on trying to go with packaged, single-source software, not custom development,” he said.

  • CAVOK Vice President Chris Doan Quoted in Aviation Week

    CAVOK Vice President Chris Doan was quoted in Aviation Week on next generation jets driving new repair technology trends.

    ​​​​​ “The aviation industry is entering a period of disruptive technology for the first time since the transition from analog to digital airplanes in the 1980s,” Doan said in an interview. “New aircraft, built largely of composites and supermetal alloys, will be maintained differently than their predecessors.”

  • CAVOK Vice President Chris Doan Quoted in Aviation Week and Space Technology

    CAVOK Vice President Chris Doan was quoted in Aviation Week and Space Technology on a presentation he gave in Singapore at the MRO Asia-Pacific conference earlier this month.  

    Doan’s MRO forecast shows the Asia-Pacific fleet will rise to 11,687 aircraft in 2025, far surpassing the aircraft in North America and in Europe. Asia-Pacific’s MRO market will have a value of $34.8 billion in 2025, compared with $21.3 billion in North America and $24.9 billion in Europe.

    The article discusses the skilled labor shortages and land constraints that lead the list of difficulties the industry faces in Asia-Pacific countries.

  • CAVOK Vice President Chris Doan Quoted in Aviation Daily

    The Asia Pacific region is predicted to have the largest fleet size and MRO value by 2025.  At the MRO Asia-Pacific conference in Singapore, CAVOK Vice President Chris Doan  forecasted that the Asia-Pacific fleet would reach over 11,000 commercial aircraft in 2025, compared with 8,142 in North America, and 8,096 in Europe. As a result, the region’s commercial MRO market reach a value of $34.8 billion in 2025, compared with $21.3 billion in North America and $24.9 billion in Europe. Doan said the mature North America and Western European markets will continue to undergo significant re-fleeting during the next 10 years, compared with only 1,300 aircraft retirements in the Asia-Pacific region and 6,500 deliveries.
