Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and evaluate service bulletins, airworthiness directives and other OEM and FAA data for applicability, relevance and cost/operational benefit
  • Electrical Load Analysis (ELA) tracking and updating
  • SME for avionics future growth paths, issues, and installation projects
  • Develop engineering orders (EO) and other engineering documents in the preferred client systems that provide instructions for repair or alteration of transport category aircraft, engines and components.
  • Provide on-call liaison engineering support to client maintenance operations world-wide on a 24/7/365 basis
  • Manage both the internal and external development and approval process for fleet wide avionics engineering projects
  • Coordinate with relevant purchasing organizations for the procurement or reservation of pre-determined materials required for fleet wide client avionics projects
  • Support negotiations with client vendors for lead time, delivery schedule, and cost associated with client avionics projects as requested
  • Coordinate with reliability, maintenance programs, technical publications and other internal customers to ensure necessary configuration changes and Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness are incorporated into client documents
  • Assist reliability and maintenance programs to improve operational performance of the aircraft
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to ensure completion of required projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of aircraft avionics/systems experience to include:
    • Avionics and systems installation and upgrade
    • Avionics and systems troubleshooting and testing
    • Aircraft software integration
    • Through knowledge of aircraft wiring diagrams, schematics, and OEM drawings.
  • Avionics/systems project integration design experience
  • Working knowledge of FARs
  • Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and other technical documents
  • Ability to provide technical support to the clients and regulators
  • Part 121 airline maintenance/engineering experience
  • Ability to travel
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A&P license
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • FCC License
  • Avionics/systems project integration design experience
  • Proficiency in airline MRO IT systems (TRAX, Ultramain, PMI, Sceptre, etc.)
  • Proficiency in CAD systems (AutoCAD, Pro-E, etc.)
